Grand Canyon

This is one of the most-visited national parks in the United States and the last stop on our five week road trip.  In 1919 it was designated a national park and saw 44,173 visitors.  Today an estimated 5.9 million people visit the Grand Canyon each year.

This photo was taken at one of the lesser-known viewpoints on an overcast day.  We climbed down to a ledge and took in the canyon as it glowed with purples.
