INYO National Forest
Little Lakes Valley Trail to Ruby Lake
The INYO National Forest and John Muir Wilderness was the first stop on our 2017 road trip after visiting ghost towns in the Eastern Sierras along CA-395.
We stayed in a great little city called Bishop, and drove up to the Little Lakes Valley Trail. We hiked to Ruby Lake: a pristine, ice-covered lake at 11,200 feet. It was made a little more difficult with snow on the trails and rushing water from winter snowfall.
This source photo was taken along the way as you get views of snow-covered Bear Creek Spire, Mt. Morgan, Mt. Dade and Mt. Abbot.
